A SHORT LIST OF VERY GOOD JEANS
A great pair of jeans is the backbone of a real wardrobe – the piece you reach for on school mornings, dinner reservations, airport days, and everything in between.
After plenty of trial and error, I’m clear on what works for me in denim – and what absolutely doesn’t. When I’m shopping, I zero in on the specifics: a precise rise, an intentional length, and a wash that feels considered rather than nostalgic. Nothing overworked! Having that internal checklist keeps me disciplined – and saves me from ending the season with a stack of unworn, tags-still-on jeans.
I have my forever favorites (Reformation’s Cynthia style, Frame’s Reboot, and AGolde’s Ren have survived many closet purges and countless outfit repeats), but I’m not sentimental when it comes to finding something better. New season, new silhouettes, new washes – it’s reason enough for a proper denim audit.
Below, the jeans I’m loving the most right now – from my tried-and-trues to the newest additions.
REFORMATION CYNTHIA CROPPED JEANS
My gold standard. A true straight leg with a flattering high rise and a just-right crop. Clean, classic, and impossible to mess up – this is the pair I recommend when someone says, “I need a good jean.” (Note: these jeans run TTS but they have zero stretch.)

FAVORITE DAUGHTER THE ERIN CROP BOOT JEANS
These jeans are a recent buy and already a favorite. The subtle bootcut gives you length without going full flare, and the cropped hem makes your shoe part of the outfit. What really wins me over, though, is the comfort – soft, forgiving, and easy from the first wear. Polished enough to dress up, comfortable enough to live in.

CITIZEN OF HUMANITY PALOMA WIDE-LEG JEANS
An oldie but a goodie! I have had these jeans for almost seven years. (I remember because I bought them just before I found out I was pregnant with George.) They’re relaxed, but not lazy. especially love it styled with something structured or slightly fitted on top to keep the proportions intentional.

REFORMATION JAX STRAIGHT JEANS
Thanks to a darker (but too dark!) wash, you can wear these day or night. The high rise is clean and flattering, and the leg falls in that sweet spot between slim and relaxed. This is the pair you reach for when you want structure – without sacrificing comfort.
SHOP
AGOLDE 90s PINCH WAIST JEANS
The super-high rise and rigid (but comfortable!) denim gives this pair a vintage feel, while the cropped length keeps it current. It’s sharp with a blazer, effortless with a tank.
SHOP
DL1961 HEPBURN WIDE LEG JEANS
This is wide-leg done the right way. The high rise is clean and elongating, and the leg falls in a true, fluid line – not stiff, not overwhelming. It has that slightly polished, almost trouser-like effect that makes it ideal with a blazer or a simple knit. The ivory wash is perfect, too, as we tip-toe into white-jean season.
SHOP
PAIGE ANESSA BESPOKE JEANS
The Anessa has a flattering high rise and a clean, tailored line through the hip before it falls into a soft, controlled flare. It’s polished, not puddled.
SHOP
AGOLDE REN WIDE LEG JEANS
This pair is a constant in my denim rotation. They hit at the ideal spot on my waist, and the denim has structure, but it’s not cardboard. I love this one when I want something simple that still feels considered. It’s a go-to for all-day, everyday wear.

FRAME REBOOT CROP
My denim rotation is never without at least one pair of Frame jeans. For the last couple of seasons, it’s the Reboot Crop that I love the most. Slim through the thigh with a controlled kick at the hem, it gives you shape without going full flare. The fabric has just enough give to feel comfortable from the start, and – just as the name implies – the length was made for wearing with your favorite pair of boots. (Hot tip: snag a pair of these in white. You’ll be glad you did when summer rolls around.)
