There’s something about this time of year that always makes me want to do an epic closet clean out and refresh the essentials. September feels like the start of a new year in its own right, and, as we transition our wardrobes from summer to fall, streamlining with the great basics and honing in on the ones that could use a freshening up feels quite timely. 

For me, nothing tops a white t-shirt. Paired with wool trousers, tucked into jeans, or dressed up with a midi skirt, it’s the workhorse of my wardrobe. I’m always testing out different ones and my most recent favorite of late is this one from ATM. It has ruching at the sides that give it a super-flattering fit.  Equally as versatile is a great pair of straight-leg jeans, worn with a chic pair of sneakers for an off-duty look or easily dressed up with a minimalist heel for an evening out. I love my new pair from The Row. Also on my list is a knitwear refresh. There’s nothing better than a delicious cashmere sweater to pull a look together, and Khaite makes some of the best ones. I’m currently eyeing this short-sleeve cardi in black as it’s the perfect option for in-between season wear.
