There’s nothing like being pregnant to remind you about the importance of ease when it comes to getting dressed. While I’m very much looking forward to wearing jeans (just ordered a new pair of these) again and all of the layering that comes with the return of fall, the truth is: sometimes there’s just nothing better than the one-and-done ease that a great dress provides – no matter what season it is and whether you’re pregnant or not. Also true: it’s simply too warm still to even think about wearing any sort of sweater or pulling out a coat.

With that in mind, I’m keeping my eye on my dress game and at the moment there’s plenty of good ones topping off my shopping list. I’m all about the dresses with great details (think: unique hem styles, bold prints, and interesting materials) because they don’t require any sort of extra accessorizing to complete the look. This orange-red Lee Matthews dress is the perfect example. I love the puff-sleeve addition. It adds just that little something extra to make a simple cotton dress stand out. (Side note: this dress is so comfortable and I’ve worn it so much that I’m considering ordering it in black, too.) Another great dress I’m eyeing is this navy blue number from Roksanda. It’s so simple (and so chic!) and the gathering adds that interesting element. A bold print totally fits the bill here so this Ulla Johnson dress is a perfect option. The colors are ideal for the fall season, too. You all know how much I love a shirt dress so it’s no surprise that this $150 find is already in my cart. You could wear it with everything from ballet flats to a pair of booties.
