I’ve always been someone who is able to recall exactly what I wore and when. My first job interview at Teen Vogue, for example: I wore a green Proenza Schouler skirt with a striped button-down shirt and ballet flats. I still have that skirt and every time I look at it, I remember that interview and feel nervous all over again. Clothes can trigger memories – especially emotional ones.

With that in mind, this summer will go down as the summer of the kaftan. I will always remember it as the summer I was pregnant and spent three months living in one kaftan (at the moment, it’s a heavy rotation of this one, this one, and this one) after the next. I’ve certainly invested in my fair share of long, breezy dresses this summer (very thankful to MyTheresa.com for having the best selection of styles and for being so speedy with the shipping!), and I’m certain that when I go to wear one of them years from now, it will immediately ignite the memory of this special time all over again.
