Black jeans are undoubtedly one of the most-worn items in my closet. Day or night, dressed up or down, they’re an essential wardrobe item. The key, of course, is finding the right pair. With a sea of options out there, this can take a little bit of trial and error. Good news for you, I’ve done my homework and have narrowed down my favorite pairs – from the best straight-leg style to the perfect pair for wearing tucked into tall boots.

Though I have been a big fan of Apiece Apart’s other pants, this is my first pair of denim from the brand. When it comes to versatility, these are a winner. High-waisted with a slightly cropped leg, these jeans can go pretty much anywhere.

While my denim preference is almost always a straight-leg style, I do love a wide-leg for wearing with boots during the fall. This style from Frame is the perfect one because it’s a slimmer spin on a wide-leg. They’re also so comfortable that you can wear them all day long and well into the night.

Equally important as a wide-leg style is a good black skinny jean. These are my go-to’s for tucking into tall boots. They’re super flattering and offer just enough stretch to make them all-day-level comfortable.
