September has been S-T-E-A-M-Y. The lingering heat did nothing but serve as a reminder that September is, in fact, a month of transition—still clinging to summer while hinting at fall. For the majority of the month, I continued with my late-summer favorites (with the exception of white denim), which included a daytime uniform of blue jeans and a basic tee or a button-down, and lightweight dresses at night.

Thanks to a couple of out-of-town adventures the back half of the month, I did manage to break out of my rotation. While at a wedding in Marfa, I was able to slip in to something festive by way of this colorful crochet midi followed by this golden-hour moment from Johanna Ortiz. I capped the month off with a getaway to England – aka the perfect excuseI to road-test some fall favorites (old and new): think luxe knitwear, these fab navy (!) leather pants, a lineup of fresh denim, and yes—even boots.
