When it comes to makeup, I’ve always leaned toward the natural, “no-makeup” makeup look. This is in part due to patience (who has that kind of time in the morning?) but mainly because I simply lack the skill to master it.
That being said, makeup is still an essential part of my daily routine (the older I get, the more “help” this face needs!). And while I may not be very adventurous with the overall look, I still love to test out new products. Here, a peek at my current makeup MVPs – from the blush that delivers the perfect hit of color to the glow-giver skin tint I won’t leave the house without.
NARS BLUSH STICK
A creamy-dreamy blush that – in the shade “Swing” – delivers a perfect hit of pink. Think: the kind of flush that says “I went for a run”—without actually breaking a sweat.

SAIE GEL ILLUMINATOR
This is the glow product I reach for every single day. Two quick pumps mixed with Westman Atelier’s Complexion Drops (Atelier I) or on its own and my skin instantly looks fresh, dewy, and alive.

Sheer but buildable, these drops even out my skin while still looking like, well, skin. I mix it with the Saie gel (see above) and the result is fresh, never makeup-y skin.

HOURGLASS HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE
This palette is so good – in fact, it’s one of the few powder products that I actually run out of regularly. I kind of use this one in place of setting powder. It gives my face a soft-focus, airbrushed finish—like someone followed me around with a flattering filter.

ARMANI BEAUTY CONCEALER
This concealer actually lives up to the hype. Creamy, blendable, and never cakey, it brightens under-eyes and smooths everything out without looking like makeup. I wear the shade 2.

SAIE LIQUID BLUSH
I am obsessed with this blush in the “Rosy” shade. A tiny dot is all you need—this blends in seconds and gives that sunny glow kind of color. Lightweight, dewy, and so pretty, it instantly perks up my whole face.

MERIT BRONZE BALM
This ultra-creamy formula glides on like a dream, adding warmth without looking heavy or overdone. The texture is what sets this apart from other bronzers: it melts into skin and never looks cakey or dry.

MAKEUP BY MARIO EYESHADOW PALETTE
This neutral-toned palette is basically the only eye shadow I have – and since I hardly ever wear eye shadow in the first place, this palette should last me forever. What I love about it is that every shade is wearable, the colors blend like a dream, and it works just as well for a one-and-done swipe as it does for a full smoky eye.
