WHAT TO WEAR ON THANKSGIVING

When it comes to your Turkey Day ensemble, comfort is key. Not just because you’re leaving extra room for turkey (although that’s certainly something to consider!) but because you’re usually in that outfit all day long – whether you eat at noon or 8:00 pm.

Comfortable doesn’t mean sweats (order these and wear them that day after!) but rather something elegant and that you feel good in day or night. If your family takes a casual approach to the holiday, consider these high-waisted jeans styled with a cozy sweater and a favorite pair of boots. If you want to dress up your denim, swap out the sweater for a bodysuit (try navy or chocolate brown) and a blazer. For those who want the comfort of sweat (read: elastic waistband), consider these leather pants (I own them in three colors!) with an oversized sweater. I’m also loving this Reformation look. The navy silk pants are brilliant.

For a more formal affair, consider a skirt. If you favor a print, take a peek at this one. It looks great paired with a burgundy top. (J.Crew has a number of burgundy knits right now.). When in doubt? The dress is a no-fail option. There’s so many good ones to choose from right now – from knit styles (see: here and here) to flowier styles like this one that would look great styled with a belt (option to remove post-feast!)

Below, four looks to inspire your Thanksgiving ‘fit. Want more? Scroll to the end of the post for a complete shopping list.
