CHIC SWIMSUIT + COVERUP COMBOS TO WEAR THIS SUMMER

There’s nothing more essential to a poolside look than a chic swimsuit + cover-up combo. It’s an integral part of a warm-weather wardrobe and makes getting dressed and out the door (especially when kids are involved) that much easier.
The key is knowing what you like and having a variety of options based on only that. I wear a lot of one-piece suits (this one is my newest favorite) and have found pareos to be one of the most versatile coverup options. I usually opt for solids when it comes to my suits so that pareos are a great opportunity for me to add in some bolder prints like this one from La Double J. There are also a number of brands (Agua by Agua Bendita for one) offering swimsuit-and-pareo matching sets (see: here, here, and here) which makes getting dressed for the pool a no-brainer.
Equally as chic is a caftan. The best ones add an instant glam factor and make a perfect option for heading straight to lunch. My favorite ones of late are from La Vie (this yellow one!) and, of course, Missoni. (This one would be a great pairing over this hot pink one-piece or this orange bikini.) For the ultimate in easy-breezy, don’t forget about an oversized button-up shirt. Julia Armory’s “Husband Shirts” are my top pick. The fit is perfect – oversized, but tailored – and the prints are always so good. I have at least four of them. (Hot tip: tuck the shirt into a matching pareo for a head-to-toe ‘fit that doubles as a dinnertime ensemble.)
