I’m always a little sad to see summer go. Making the shift from the slower pace of summer to fall’s hustle and bustle isn’t always easy. But there’s a fix for that, and it comes in the form of a shopping list. Nothing quite like a wardrobe refresh to put a little pep in your step. 

My focus this fall ranges from leveled-up basics (see: here, here, and here) and essential accessories (belts!) to an assortment of special-occasion numbers that will carry me through party season. Also on my radar: skirts (mainly high-waisted with an a-line silhouette), fancy flats, and a hero handbag. As far as palette – no surprise here – I gravitate towards warm neutrals and autumnal hues this time of year, but I’m also loving the unexpected pops I’m seeing via items like these bottle-green boots and this cayenne-red sweater. And I’m just getting started.
