DENIM REFRESH: 8 PAIRS YOU NEED FOR FALL
When it comes to closet essentials, nothing tops the list quite like a great pair of denim. It’s the ultimate wardrobe workhorse – a go-with-everything staple that goes with, well, everything.
It’s all about finding the right pair (or pairs) which, as we all know, can take a little work. My hope is that this post will help. Here, you’ll find my current denim short list – from my everyday favorites like this straight-leg and my go-to bootcut pair to the best wide-leg and flare styles. (Also on the list: the most flattering crop-flare I own.)
As we head into fall (prime time for denim!), now’s the perfect time to snag your next best pair. Happy shopping.

MOUSSY GARFIELD STRAIGHT JEANS
Crafted with a tapered leg (a happy medium between skinny and straight), these no-stretch jeans are a new go-to for everyday wear. They look equally as good with flat sandals as they do with block heels.

RAG & BONE CASEY ANKLE FLARE JEANS
These jeans check every box: perfect fit, flattering (slimming!), and so comfortable. They have a barely-there flare that’s cropped at just the right spot on my ankle, and the waist sits high, just the way I like it. I own them in two different washes and certainly won’t stop there.

NILI LOTAN FLORENCE JEANS
These high-waisted Nili Lotan jeans are a new favorite in my closet. With patch pockets and a subtle ankle flare (read: perfect for those of us who were not blessed with super long legs), they have a vintage vibe about them that I love. The longer length is ideal for boot season.

DL1961 HEPBURN WIDE LEG JEANS
Forget the rules: white denim is no longer a summer-only option. It’s a year-round staple that’s equally as versatile as its blue counterparts. This time of year, I opt for softer shades of white, like ecru and cream as I like the warmth it gives to a fall look. This high-rise pair from DL1961 is one of my favorites. The eggshell wash combined with the wide-leg cut gives them a laid-back vibe that looks great with a simple crewneck tee now and, as we head into cooler temperatures, also pairs well with a chunky turtleneck sweater. It’s also worth noting that, thanks to a mid-weight stretch, they’re super comfortable, too.

KHAITE VIVIAN BOOTCUT FLARE JEANS
Khaite makes some of the best jeans out there. The quality is always tip-top and the denim magically gets better and better the more wear they get. With a super-high waist and an ever-so-slight flare at the ankle, these jeans look great with any shoe (boots, sky-high heels, flats…!), making them a go-to for day or night.

MOTHER THE HUSTLER ANKLE FRAY JEANS
If it’s a dressed-up denim look I’m after, a pair of black jeans is a no-brainer. I like this high-waist pair not only because they’re super comfortable, but because the flare is a perfect in-between for wearing with a pair of pumps or heeled boots, giving them endless outfit options.

FRAME LE SLIM PALAZZO JEANS
If you’re not quite ready to dive head first into wide-leg denim, baby-step your way there with these. They offer the wide-leg look but with a slightly slimmer spin. The denim itself is super comfortable and though it does soften, it won’t stretch out by the end of the season.

REFORMATION CYNTHIA STRAIGHT CROPPED JEANS
These Reformation jeans are my idea of a perfect everyday pair. They’re a true classic – straight-leg, timeless wash, and look just as good now as they will in five years. I wear these with both heels and flats. Bonus: with a price tag under $150, they’re a great bang-for-your-buck buy.
