Though dresses and chic swimwear get all the glory during this time of year, knitwear deserves a little bit of the warm-weather spotlight, too. Spring’s unpredictable weather (cold in the morning and balmy by lunch time) followed by summer days where the AC is on full blast makes layering more important than ever, putting knitwear in an all-star role.

While I’ve put away my heavyweight wool and chunky cashmere sweaters for the season, the rest of my knits hang around all year. Right now, I’m reaching for lightweight favorites, including J.Crew’s short-sleeve cashmere tees (a layering essential!), cardigans (just ordered this one), v-neck styles in bright spring colors (I wear this one all the time), and cotton knits like my newest addition from Staud, a sweater I plan to wear all summer long.
