DENIM REFRESH: 7 PAIRS TO ADD TO YOUR CLOSET FOR FALL
SLVRLAKE JEANS // KNIT POLO TOP (SIMILAR HERE)
When it comes to closet essentials, nothing tops the list quite like a great pair of denim. It’s the ultimate wardrobe workhorse – a go-with-everything staple that goes with, well, everything and never (ever) goes out of style.
It’s all about finding the right pair (or pairs) which, as we all know, can take a little work. My hope is that this post will help. I’ve put together a short list of seven pairs – from my favorite day-or-night bootcut option to the the most flattering skinny-flare out there – that are worth at least a quick peek, if not an add-to-cart action.
P.S. If you’re looking for my favorite maternity option, stay tuned. I’m in the midst of R&D there and will report back in a separate post.
SLVRLAKE “LONDON” JEANS
These have been a go-to for me since I ordered my first pair over a year ago. Designed to sit high on the waist with little to zero stretch, these are the epitome of a classic, straight-leg pair of jeans. They look equally as good with a pair of sneakers or ballet flats as they do a heel.

KHAITE “VIVIAN” JEANS
Khaite makes some of the best jeans out there. The quality is always tip-top and the denim magically get better and better the more wear they get. With a super-high waist and an ever-so-slight flare at the ankle, these jeans offer a polished spin on casual, making them a go-to for day or night.

DL1961 “HEPBURN” WIDE LEG JEANS
Forget the rules: white denim is no longer a summer-only option. It’s a year-round staple that’s equally as versatile as its blue counterparts. This time of year, I opt for softer shades of white, like ecru and cream as I like the warmth it gives to a fall look. This high-rise pair from DL1961 is one of my favorites. The eggshell wash combined with the wide-leg cut gives them a laid-back vibe that looks equally as good with a simple crewneck tee as it does with a chunky turtleneck sweater. It’s also worth noting that, thanks to a mid-weight stretch, they’re also super comfortable.

FRAME “LE JANE” JEANS
These were one of the last pairs of jeans I bought before I could no longer squeeze my pregnant self into regular denim, and I imagine they’ll be one of the first pairs I reach for postpartum. These jeans have that effortlessly-cool vibe that you look for in a go-with-everything, casual jean. They sit high on the waist and have an ever-so-slightly tapered (think: somewhere in between straight and wide) leg cut.

VERONICA BEARD “BEVERLY” JEANS
I’ll admit that sometimes I feel a little intimidated by the the flared-jean style. They look so good on my tall, long-legged friends, but on my 5’4″ (long-torsoed, not long-legged, I might add) self, they can sometimes feel… too much? These high-waisted Veronica Beard jeans hit the spot: they’re cut to a fitted silhouette, offering a slim, more subtle flare that doesn’t overpower my shorter frame. And like all of the jeans I’ve tried from the brand, they’re super flattering and really comfortable, too. I love the look of these paired with a classic pump and a tailored blazer.

MOTHER “THE TOMCAT ROLLER” JEANS
If you’re looking for a casual, throw-on-and-go daytime pair of jeans then these might just be your ticket. I’ve owned these jeans (in three different washes, I might add) and try as I might to quit them, they remain one of my most-worn pairs year-round. They’re comfortable and a go-to for me with flats, especially sneakers.

SLVRLAKE “GRACE” JEANS
If it’s a dressed-up denim look I’m after, a pair of black jeans is a no-brainer. I like this high-waist pair from SLVRLAKE not only because they don’t stretch even after a million wears (!), but because the flare is a perfect in-between for wearing with a pair of pumps or heeled boots, which are usually the shoes of choice on dressier occasions.
