17 FESTIVE FINDS FOR THE FOURTH – AND BEYOND

If there’s one holiday that calls for a go-big-or-go-home approach, it’s the Fourth of July. Whether you have a big party plans with friends or planning a casual BBQ in your own backyard, dressing for the occasion is a must. You can go head-to-toe with the red, white, and blue (think: this, this, or this) or opt for a slightly more subtle approach with by adding a festive accessory or two (earrings, a handbag, or even a chic bandana) to an all-white look. (If a pool party is on the agenda, my favorite J.Crew one-piece + coordinating sunnies should do the trick.)

Need a little Independence Day outfit inspo? You’ve come to the right place. Below, a list of festive favorites for the Fourth – and beyond.

VALENTINO CREPE DE CHINE LOGO MINIDRESS

Valentino has taken the classic bandana print and reimagined it as a fashion-forward must-have. Dress this mini up or down all summer long.

SHOP

ALESSANDRA RICH SILVER-TONE CRYSTAL STAR EARRINGS

Festive with a capital F. These statement earrings are already in my cart.

SHOP

LA DOUBLEJ COWGIRL SKIRT

This skirt is one of my favorite styles from La Double J. It comes in a million different print options but this red-white-and-blue one is ideal for the Fourth. Pair it with a simple white t-shirt and call it a day.

SHOP

LELE SADOUGHI HEART DROP EARRINGS

If you need a quick fix for the Fourth, a pair of festive statement earrings is always a good go-to. These earrings make for a perfect finishing touch to your favorite summer white dress.

SHOP

XIRENA MAISIE DRESS

If red really isn’t your color, opt for this bright blue number instead. Crafted in a light cotton, it’s ideal for a hot summer day.

SHOP

KULE STRIPED BOYFRIEND TEE

A foolproof outfit choice: the oh-so-classic stripe tee. Wear this with your favorite pair of white denim and out the door you go. (Bonus: you’ll wear this tee over and over the rest of the summer!)

SHOP

PAIGE NELLIE CULOTTE JEANS

White is always a fresh choice for summer – and, most likely, you already have plenty of it in your closet. This cropped pair of white denim is a new favorite of mine and provides the foundation for endless top options – including the aforementioned stripe tee.

SHOP

The unofficial fruit of summer! These cherry earrings are whimsical and add just the right amount of kitsch to a classic look.

SHOP

CARA CARA JAZZY DRESS

I am thrilled to see one of my favorite summer dresses reimagined in a bright red this season. It’s such an easy dress to wear – throw it on with a pair of flat sandals during the day or make it a cocktail hour look with a pair of big gold hoops and your favorite wedges.

SHOP

RUE DE VENEUIL STRIPED CANVAS AND LEATHER TOTE

This striped carryall has all the functionality of my beloved Boat & Tote, but with a level up on the refinement. It’s the kind of carry-all that looks equally at home under an umbrella at the beach as it does with a dress at cocktail hour.

SHOP

LISA MARIE FERNANDEZ SCALLOPED-EDGE GINGHAM-BOUCLÉ SET

Gingham is synonymous with summer and feels oh-so-right for the Fourth. I love a matching a set (makes getting dressed that much easier, right?) and this is one you can wear over and over – day or night!

SHOP

HERMÉS DISCO COACHING BANDANA

Hermés calls this the Disco Bandana – and rightfully so because it’s extra shiny and oh-so-festive. Tie yours around your neck or make it a hair accessory.

SHOP

This navy one-piece is one of my best buys this season. It’s super flattering and the ruffle at the shoulder adds a much-appreciated dramatic detail. Add a pareo for a perfect poolside ensemble.

J.CREW FLORENCE SUNGLASSES

Even those who are a classicist when it comes to sunnies could use a colored pair every now and then. The Fourth of July is the perfect excuse to buy a new pair. Bonus: these are under $50.

SHOP

AMUR ZEMIRAH COTTON RUFFLE-SLEEVE DRESS

If your holiday plans call for something a little dressier, this ruffled number is the ticket. Add a pair of festive earrings and simple sandals for a finishing touch.

SHOP

CASTANER CARINAE WEDGE ESPADRILLES

Even the most festive looks need a good neutral mixed in. These canvas espadrilles are a classic. They come in several heel heights (take your pick!) and go with literally everything.

SHOP

JW ANDERSON STRIPED KNITTED TOTE BAG

For an unexpected touch to your red-and-blue look, add in the colors’ primary mate: yellow. The happy hue  may not be the obvious patriotic pick but it looks great mixed with red and blue as seen in this on-sale score from J.W. Anderson.
