I always tell people that the quickest way to punch up any tabletop look is with glassware. While I’m all for having a great set of simple, clear glasses for everyday use, when it comes to setting a table (especially during the summer!), colored glasses are preferred. A chic set of colored glasses brings a festive touch to a table and makes even the most basic white dinner plates look interesting.

One of my most favorite tabletop items I own is this set of glasses from La Double J. I use them all the time. With each glass a different color, it really makes them an ideal pairing for just about any plate. You certainly don’t have to spend that much to get a similar effect. Take a peek at this striped set from Anthropologie. The colors are so fun and you can score a set of four for less than $75. (Note: Those would make an excellent summer hostess gift!)
