CHIC SWIMSUIT + COVERUP COMBOS TO WEAR ALL SUMMER LONG
There’s nothing more essential to a poolside look than a chic swimsuit + coverup combo. It’s an integral part of the summer wardrobe and, like any style uniform, simplifies the process of getting dressed – and, let’s be honest, we could all use a little more of that.
Now that George is swimming, the pool has become a big part of our summer schedule. This level of frequency has forced me to take stock of my current selection of coverups and swimsuits and, in turn, change my mindset around shopping for them. I now realize how much easier (and quicker!) it is to get out the door when I have a few go-to combinations planned in advance.
The key, as always, is knowing what you like and having a variety of options based on only that. I wear a lot of one-piece suits and have found pareos to be one of the most versatile coverup options. Since I wear a lot of black swimsuits (this one is still my favorite), I tend to opt for pareos with fun prints – think: this La DoubleJ one or this printed Pucci. I love a chic kaftan, too, as it adds instant glam to any poolside look. My favorite ones of late are this one, this one and this one. Despite their more limited pairing options, I’ve also invested in some great poolside pants (see: here, here, and here) when I’m in the mood for something different.
